Operations Officer 

Fixed Term Contract for up to 12 months
Salary – circa 18.3k, plus contributory pension
(Based at Durham Tees Valley Airport)

Durham Tees Valley Airport is a regional airport offering global connectivity for the Tees Valley.  In addition to its Domestic and European routes, the airport is focused on developing General & Business Aviation.    Consort Aviation is a fixed-base operator (FBO), providing services for private, business and military and is actively recruiting for an Operations Officer to join the existing team.

The Role:

  • To ensure FBO customers receive an excellent customer service throughout and the services they require. 

  • Respond to handling requests and ensure all services are anticipated and arranged.

  • To chock fixed-wing and helicopters safely onto the ramp and to operate a GPU and other ground services equipment

  • To assist flight crew with flight planning and communications and passengers with luggage and associated loading.

  • To hold an airside driving permit, adhering to all safety and security procedures.

  • To maintain accurate information on the Airport Operations system and other manual and computerized systems.

  • To process invoices and payments and other related finance duties.

  • To liaise with the Control Authorities and to comply with all Border Force requirements and instructions.

  • To liaise with the Airport’s fuel supplier for the provision of efficient aircraft fuelling.

  • You will work an operational shift pattern, averaging 40 hours per week, including weekends, a flexible attitude to working hours is essential.

The successful candidate:

  • A real genuine interest in Aviation and ideally experience of working in the business / general aviation sector  

  • Flexible attitude to working hours, work activities and an ability to work shifts

  • Able to work under their own initiative

  • Calm under pressure and able to work effectively as part of a small team

  • Good communication skills and ability to follow procedures

  • Excellent personal presentation and communication skills

  • A passion for delivering exceptional levels of Customer Service

  • Ability to listen and respond to customer needs

  • Proven competency of working in a highly regulated and safety environment 

  • A full UK driving licence and you will also be required to complete a Counter Terrorist Check and a five year background check.
